Friday, June 13, CCEM hosted an annual workshop to strengthen internal synergy and consolidate relations with collaborators at GLOBE, BIO and SNM. The workshop featured presentations by junior and senior researchers in CCEM as well as by visitors from the University of California, Berkeley, and concluded with a BBQ party at professor Christy Anna Hipsley’s house in Frederiksberg.
The workshop presented talks by Chao Zhang: “WASTER: Genomic landmark assignment and phylogenetic inference”, Sofia Stroustrup: “Stochastic Phylogenetic Models of Shape”, Michael Lind Severinsen: “Stitching Shapes: Automated Surface Landmarking for 3D Morphometrics”, Ricardo Ely: “Influence of Morphological Integration and Modularity on Evolutionary Rates and Disparity of Bird Beaks”, Gefan Yang: “Neural Guided Diffusion Bridges: Enhance diffusion bridge simulations via neural networks”.
Levi Raskin: “Hominin systematics and the promise of morphometrics”, Jacky Li: “Morphology Evolution on Phylogenetic Trees with Local MCMC Algorithm”, and Professor John Huelsenbeck: “A Bayesian approach for detecting correlated rates on a phylogenetic tree”.
CCEM Professors Stefan Sommer, Christy Anna Hipsley, Rasmus Nielsen participated in the discussion.
