  • During the bi-weekly CCEM meeting on 31 January, the group of Staffan Persson (head of the Copenhagen Plant Science Center) will visit, to discuss plant cell morphometry and possible synergies to the CCEM project, including presentation by Dr. Zoran Nikoloski (bio-informatics dep.,uni. of Potsdam)
  • On 18 January 2024, Stefan Sommer gave a talk in the 2nd workshop on Mathematics of Small Data Analysis: The Diffusion Mean of Geometric Data
  • On 17 January 2024, the CCEM bi-weekly meeting will include a presentation by Sneha Bhansali, MA student at the University of Bonn, Germany: Evolution of wing pattern in the Zygaena manlia group using phylogenomics and machine learning

  • On 20 December 2023, the bi-weekly CCEM meeting features a talk by Ching-Peng Huang, postdoc at Zentrum für Molekulare Neurobiologie Hamburg, PhD from Brown University: Mean curvature flows in random matrix theory
  • On 23 November 2023, Morten Akhøj Pedersen will defend his PhD thesis “Riemannian and sub-Riemannian methods for dimension reduction” at INRIA Sophia-Antipolis
  • Stefan Sommer is invited to give a talk on 23 November 2023 at Centre Inria d’Université Côte d’Azur: Conditioned diffusions in geometric statistics: Means, bridges, and shape variation along phylogenetic trees (also accessible online ID 811 6968 3303, psw 485586)

  • Christy Hipsley gave a keynote talk on Sep 20th 2023: Visualising evolution in 4D: prospects and challenges for large-scale CT datasets. The keynote was given during the International Forum for Computer Vision in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, hosted by Lund University from Sep 18th – 22nd 2023.
  • Conditioned diffusions in geometric statistics: Means, bridges, and shape variation along phylogenetic trees: talk by Stefan Sommer on 18 September 2023 during a visit to University of Utah hosted by professor Sarang Joshi
  • Stefan Sommer gave a Neyman seminar talk about statistics on manifolds on September 13 2023. The talk was part of the statistics seminar series organised by the Statistics Department at UC Berkeley

  • During the 29th Nordic Conference in Mathematical Statistics, NORDSTAT 2023, June 19-22 2023, Gothenburg (Sweden), CCEM gave three presentations: Sofia Stroustrup, Bayesian inference for stochastic shape models on phylogenetic trees, Elizabeth Baker, Gaussian processes in shape spaces and Stefan Sommer, Manifold Bridges and Diffusion Means.
